Registrars can legally marry a couple and are normally employed by the HSE.
Unlike celebrants, there are certain restrictions in the way they can conduct a
ceremony. They can have more than one ceremony in a day, so they do not build
up a relationship with the couple before the day of your wedding. Your ceremony
will be the same as that of every other couple with just a name change.
A celebrant led wedding allows each couple to tailor their ceremony to their own
particular wishes. Your celebrant will take the time to get to know you and to
understand what type of ceremony you wish to have. This means that your day is
completely unique to you both. There are no rules in a celebrant led ceremony. Many couples opt to complete the legalities on a different day so that they can focus on the fun, excitement and magic of their special and unique ceremony.
In order to complete the legal side, the couple and their two witnesses need to make a second, short visit to the Registrar. There is no extra cost for this. Celebrants can include both religious and spiritual elements to the ceremony.

The cost of the ceremony is €500. For this, I will plan, write and redraft your unique ceremony as well as delivering an amazing ceremony on the day. Your day is created just for you where the focus is to celebrate who you are, to tell your love story and to create amazing memories. Some couples opt to have their unique love story crafted and delivered by the celebrant during the ceremony. For those who don’t, a more generic piece can be included instead.
